Project Scope & Highlights
- The Pier D Expansion involved the further extension of the existing West Chevron Expansion (see below), involving extensive Relocations, Site Preparation and the construction of 5 additional International Gates.
- Working closely with the Airport’s Schematic Design Team and a large variety of Stakeholders, PPS developed the Project Master Schedule, Execution Strategy, Procurement Plan and Phasing Plans, all of which formed a cornerstone of the Project Definition Report (PDR) and subsequent RFP documents.
- This proved especially challenging due to a late decision by the Airport Authority to almost double the size of the project, which introduced an extensive array of new relocations and phasing requirements.
- Upon Award of the CM Contract, we worked closely with PCL to develop a robust Project Schedule, which he also reviewed on a monthly basis as the project progressed. This also included delay analysis and the development of mitigation strategies in response to a major delay to structural steel delivery.
- The project was completed successfully in late 2020 despite the challenges posed by the Covid 19 pandemic.
