Project Scope & Highlights
- One of the largest Renovation/Expansion Projects ever executed in Canada, involving the construction of 2 Major Highrise Office Towers within (up and through) the original Heritage Shell of the Old Vancouver Post Office.
- While the Existing Post Office Shell was retained, its entire Structural Frame was rebuilt from within to accommodate the Towers and several additional Podium Floors – including lowering the entire Sub-Structure by more than 2 metres. The Interior was fitted out to house several additional Office Floors, and to create major new Commercial/Retail Spaces.
- In response to a series of major Scope Changes, together with the impact of COVID, PPS facilitated the definition, negotiation and acceptance of a broad program of Acceleration and Recovery Initiatives. These were formally incorporated into a thoroughly revised and upgraded Baseline Schedule which underpinned the renegotiated Contract between the Owner and PCL.
- Amazon’s Tenant Lease demanded delivery in 5 Phased Handovers to enable progressive Tenant Fitout, and ultimately more than 1.9 million sf of New and Renovated Floorspace were delivered on or ahead of each of the stringent Lease Milestone Dates.
